Lewis-Manning Hospice is Poole’s voluntary hospice offering freespecialist palliative nursing care to around 650 local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. They are a registered charity, regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission.
Autism Wessex is the regional charity providing high quality specialist services for people affected by autism and associated difficulties across the counties of Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. Autism Wessex provide three main areas of support:
Portfield School for education, residential and respite care
Community Wessex for social care services
Advocacy and Advice services
Forest Holme Hospice Charity (Registered Charity No. 1038021) was formed in 1994 to raise funds to support Forest Holme Hospice which would is used to enhance the quality of life for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
The charity support all aspects of the hospice including the 12 bedded in-patient ward, the purchasing of specialist equipment, the funding of additional staffing posts, complementary therapies and counselling and bereavement support to patients and their families.
The charity has to raise £500,000 of voluntary donations each year to ensure that Forest Holme Hospice continues to be a centre of excellence for specialist end of life care in Poole, Wimborne and the Purbecks.
